To begin, being first time homebuyers we had done a lot of research on not just the market here in Edmonton, but the pros and cons of buying a detached single dwelling vs a condo/duplex. We were pretty thorough while weighing the benefits of living outside the city vs downtown, but what we could not research, or really be sure of, was landing a crack real estate agent. After a few chance encounters with pushy obnoxious agents, a friend had mentioned Anita Rivest (Century 21) so we called her on a whim to explain our situation, and within the first few minutes we were sold. It wasn’t just that Anita was professional, or very knowledgeable; she took the time to ask what was important to us and explained how she could meet those needs. With my wife travelling back to Halifax during part of our house hunting period, Anita met with me on weekends, taking time out of her schedule to be ruthlessly meticulous when researching listings. She never tried to sell us or push us to make any kind of decisions. She was extremely patient throughout the several months we looked, and, always cheerful.
